I am 18 or olderThe Bonnieux cellar, created in 1920 by a few vine growers determined to pool their means of production, was the first in the Vaucluse department. This adventure continues, enriched by his experience. She is able to offer you her best selections.
Our cellar has the particularity of being able to offer you its 2 appellations “A.O.P. Luberon” and “A.O.P. Ventoux” produced on different soils, conferring to each wine typicity and character drawn from deep within their roots.
Located in the heart of the Luberon Regional Nature Park, the cellar is in keeping with its environment since it was equipped in 1996 with an autonomous station for the treatment of wine effluents, guaranteeing no polluting discharges into the natural environment. In the same way the vine growers are engaged in the reasoned fight of the vineyard preserving at the best the harmony and the environmental balance.
The privileged location of the vineyards of the Bonnieux cellar, between Haute Provence and Rhône Valley, allows it to benefit from varied conditions both in terms of soil and exhibitions. The vine alternates harmoniously with cherry and olive trees. Its territory extends on Bonnieux and some bordering communes (Goult, Roussillon, Lacoste, Gordes) on both sides of the Calavon, peaceful tributary of the Durance.
In the north, spreads the area of the A.O.P Ventoux with its alternation of hills with more or less gentle slopes. The soils are varied with the characteristic ocher sands around Roussillon. The vineyards also appreciate the slopes exposed south on gray marl (clay-limestone) Gargassian. To the south, the hillside is the area of choice for the A.O.P Luberon area. If we find some oily veneer, clay-sandy soils often in the form of terraces predominate. They come from the erosion of Lacoste cliffs (and its famous stone) or the plateau of Claparèdes, kingdom of lavender and truffle oaks, just behind Bonnieux. It is this variety associated with an adapted and neat work of the winemaker that allows the expression so characteristic of our wines.
It varies from 30,000 to 35,000 hl each year.
Since 1999, Laurent is the director of the Bonnieux Cellar, enforcing the directives of the Board of Directors. Oenologist training, during the grape harvest do not look in his office but rather in a corridor of the cellar framing the staff and letting express his passion.
